Advertising is a form of communication intended to persuade an audience (viewers, readers or listeners) to purchase or take some action upon products, ideals or services (explanation taken from wikipedia).
A website can be a way for promoting your business online, but it can also be a way for acquiring more revenues by way of advertisements. These advertisements can be in the form of text ads or banner ads.

 Nowadays, going to the internet for whatever your needs may be is just a natural thing for most people. Internet advertising has gained so much popularity because of its capability to reach out to several people globally.
Banner advertising is a key component of internet advertising alongside text advertising. It can also be a good way of making revenues for a website.
An essential part of this advertising method is to get more traffic to your website. You can have good revenues if you have a well optimized site and more people make a click on the banner ads that are well placed on this site. There can be many strategies to make your banner advertising relevant to modern day internet marketing. Target your preferred advertising regions and you can target the right audience that is exactly needed.

Every time viewers click on ads they can have an impression on the viewers. These can leave a good imprint on the viewers' mind and the more views and clicks will be good for your site.
You can have more revenues with the banner ads that are well placed in the pages of your website. By carefully selecting the banner ads that are more relevant to your site and placing it more conspicuously and prominently in the pages, you can probably have more visitors click on these, and thus giving you more revenues.
